Frequently Asked Questions

1.How do I know you are serious?

I created this website and connected it with my LinkedIn (https://www.linkedin.com/in/tburdick/) to demonstrate I am not a private equity firm but just an aspiring young entrepreneur with a sincere and singular focus on acquiring one small business to operate for the long term. If you are skeptical, I am happy to answer questions by email (tyler@nianticrivercapital.com) or over the phone at (860) 912-5347.

2. What does the process look like?

To get to know you and your business I generally like to take a few preliminary steps:

  1. An introductory call to introduce myself and learn more about you

  2. Sign an NDA and review high-level financial information

  3. Ask additional questions and put together a preliminary evaluation

  4. Schedule an in-person visit to get to know each other better

The final part of the process will involve signing a Letter of Intent and completing a detailed due diligence process. The entire process will take approximately 3-6 months.

3. What are the basic transaction details?

I am looking to do a transaction at a value and with terms standard for your industry

  • I intend to maintain existing contracts, employees, and the current business location

  • I desire a smooth ownership transition over a period of months following the closing

  • I have retained legal and accounting support with cash in the bank to make the purchase

  • I am prepared to move efficiently through due diligence to closing

4. Where are you currently located?

I work from college or my apartment located in Newton. I am willing to relocate anywhere within a 50 mile radius of Boston to be closer to the business.
